Hello from Kota Kinabalu !

Well we all made it safely to Borneo after almost 18 hours of travelling. We are all pretty weary - not much sleep was had on the plane. At 4.30 am when we arrived at Hong Kong airport, Louise decided this was as good a place as any to finally have a sleep (as you can see from the photo). 

Our guide for the Trek, Jerome met us at the airport and he is a really friendly guy so we should have a great time with him. 

The Motel is very flash and looks over the water so we are enjoying it while we can as we have a cocktail by the pool, before it quickly comes to an abrupt end and we leave for the jungle.

It is very hot here and very high humidity which won't be much fun while we are trekking.

Jackson has so far gone to the wrong place to catch the bus, forgotten his wallet, asked a million questions - the answers for which would no doubt be in the 110 unread emails he has told me he hasn't read!  About 10 minutes ago he gave himself a major heart attack by losing his passport. This has now been found thank god - I think it is going to be a long 10 days !!!

Simon is quickly being introduced to the Newcastle sense of humour and lots of noise but fitting in really great and everyone is getting on really well.

We are all looking forward to getting on the track.

Ali, Rhi, Brad and Sharkie have gone to have a massage before we head off to dinner shortly and then I think everyone will be keen to get to bed and actually be able to sleep in a bed. We have a 6 am start tomorrow.
