Today
was unbelievably hot. We walked for 8 hours in 37 degrees with 97% humidity for
21 kms. We walked 30,700 steps. Today we had no coverage from the sun at all
and for the whole 8 hours the heat was beating down on us.
Today
we were mostly on a road full of rocks. The steam was literally coming up
through our boots.
We
finally got into Camp and as we started taking our boots off, lots of blisters
were revealed.
It
is so hard to explain how zapped of energy you feel - it completely drains you
but you keep on walking hoping there will be a tree around the corner where you
can get some shade relief for a few minutes,
Jerome
has just told us tomorrow will be two times harder than today and we are all
wondering how the heck we will do it.
Comments
from the Trekkers:
Ali
- the heat penetrating into our bare skin was unavoidable and we were nursing
many scratches from the last few days which were now getting burnt.
Simon
- tough walk in the heat sprinkled with some majestic views over some lush
countryside but slightly blotted out by the sweat in my eyes.
Rhiannon
- very very hot, very tiring but as soon as we got to the water u forget about
the pain until you have to go again.
Brad
- extremely hot, hard and felt like we were never going to finish. Swim was
good but now in lots of pain again.
Sharkie
- being a fair ginger I have come to appreciate hats and sunscreen today which
melts off your skin anyway. Probably the
most intense sunlight and heat I have experienced.
Until
tomorrow - pray for us!!!!

Donna I have taken your last comment. I will do this.
To every one else. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You are all amazing.
You're doing so incredible! I'm thinking of you daily, and all the pain you're going through, but you are all such troopers! Love reading the blogs! Mum, I know you must be hurting, but I am so very proud of you!! All my love xx
It's Gary from Camp Quality HQ again.
I love reading the blog, Donna you're doing a great job. I know how tiring it is to write it at the end of the day!
God this sounds even harder than getting used to cleats on the bike and falling off in front of school kids!
I posted a link to your blog on Camp Quality's national Facebook page over the weekend (after my previous comment) and you're getting lots of likes and messages of support. Our 10,000 Facebook friends are really rooting for you. So are we.
Keep going and never never never give up. You'll be so deservedly proud of yourselves by the end.
From Gary and everyone at Camp Quality HQ in Sydney xxx
